# Plainpaper > Plainpaper is a shared visual canvas where an AI agent researches audiences, drafts creative and emails, and lays every marketing campaign out as typed cards on a board you steer and approve. Works with Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP client. Plainpaper turns an AI chat into a persistent workspace. The agent does the heavy lifting (research, segmentation, copy, scheduling) while a human reviews and approves every asset on the board before anything goes live. It connects to the marketing tools you already use over MCP, and each campaign starts from a proven playbook board or a blank canvas. ## Docs Product documentation for Plainpaper users: how the board, cards, approvals, and guidelines work, plus task-shaped how-to guides with copy-paste prompts for the user's agent. - [Docs home](https://plainpaper.io/docs/): What Plainpaper is, the core loop (brief → agent writes cards → human approves → agent executes elsewhere), and how the docs are organized. - [Quickstart](https://plainpaper.io/docs/quickstart/): Account to first agent-built board in ten minutes. - [Connect your agent](https://plainpaper.io/docs/connect-your-agent/): pick your tool (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client) and connect it to the endpoint mcp.plainpaper.io/mcp/, by signing in (OAuth) on chat surfaces or with a workspace agent token in command-line and editor clients. - [Boards & the canvas](https://plainpaper.io/docs/boards/): The infinite canvas, phases, focus view, auto-arrange, embedded boards. - [Cards & connections](https://plainpaper.io/docs/cards/): Typed cards, statuses, provenance, citations, version history, the lineage graph, A/B variants. - [Deliverables](https://plainpaper.io/docs/deliverables/): Real email cards (subject, preheader, rendered HTML), ad creative staged in platform mockups, results charts. - [Assets & media](https://plainpaper.io/docs/assets/): Private storage, asset:// references, placeholder slots that block approval. - [Approvals & control](https://plainpaper.io/docs/approvals/): Gated statuses, proposed actions, what the agent may do alone vs. what needs a human click. - [Brand guidelines](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guidelines/): Workspace-level brand memory the agent must apply before writing, including the "Prevent AI language" voice block. - [Templates](https://plainpaper.io/docs/templates/): The Ecommerce Campaign playbook and private workspace templates. - [Workspaces & team](https://plainpaper.io/docs/workspaces/): One workspace per brand, roles, seats, workspace tools. - [Set up your first campaign](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/first-campaign/): Brief to approved email, step by step with prompts. - [Set guidelines for a workspace](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/workspace-guidelines/): Have the agent analyze a brand site and write binding guideline blocks. - [Draft email campaigns](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/email-campaigns/): Email cards, sequences, A/B variants, ESP handoff. - [Create ad creative](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/ad-creative/): Creative shapes, mockup staging, approval requirements, ad-platform handoff. - [Review, steer & approve](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/review-and-approve/): Live assembly, comments as instructions, the decision drawer. - [Resume a campaign](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/resume-a-campaign/): A fresh agent session reconstructs the whole campaign from the board. - [Share a board](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/share-a-board/): Revocable read-only links with optional password. - [Connect your marketing stack](https://plainpaper.io/docs/guides/connect-your-stack/): The Tools palette; the agent executes through each platform's own connector. - [Prompt library](https://plainpaper.io/docs/prompts/): Copy-paste prompts for every campaign stage. - [Agent tools](https://plainpaper.io/docs/agent-tools/): The full MCP tool reference, generated from the server source: all 54 tools a connected agent can call, grouped by area (connection and workspaces, boards, phases, cards, card connections, templates, deliverables and mockups, assets, actions and approvals, comments, brand guidelines), with what each one does in plain language. There is no send tool and no card or board delete: publishing happens through each platform's own connector after human approval on the board. - [Plans & billing](https://plainpaper.io/docs/plans/): 7-day free trial, Starter/Scale/Business, what happens after the trial. - [FAQ & troubleshooting](https://plainpaper.io/docs/faq/): Connection issues, approval blockers, media rules, data isolation. ## Playbooks Ready-made campaign boards. A playbook sets up a Plainpaper board with its phases, card types, starter cards, and the agent guidance the agent reads before it does anything. Two tiers, distinguished by who wrote them: playbooks by Plainpaper ship inside the product and are one click; playbooks by the community are published here and unlock with a 7-digit code, previewed in full before anything is added to a workspace. A playbook can only ever propose: every card it creates arrives as a draft and nothing leaves Plainpaper without human approval. - [Playbook library](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/): The index, filterable by tier, category and required connectors. - [Ecommerce campaign](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/ecommerce-campaign/): The general-purpose end-to-end board: brief, audience, strategy, emails and creative, results measured against the goal. By Plainpaper. - [Product launch](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/product-launch/): Positioning and proof as their own phases before any copy exists, then a dated sequence around one launch moment. By Plainpaper. - [Welcome series](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/welcome-series/): Map what each signup was actually promised, sequence five beats that keep that promise, and measure the flow against your list baseline rather than against zero. By Plainpaper. - [Post-purchase flow](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/post-purchase-flow/): Mine order data for the patterns that predict a second order, pick the right moment for each, and sell again without teaching full-price buyers to wait for discounts. By Plainpaper. - [Winback & retention](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/winback-retention/): Segment lapsed customers by CAUSE rather than recency, one sequence per reason, reactivation measured against a holdout. By Plainpaper. - [Paid social test-and-learn](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/paid-social-test-and-learn/): One hypothesis per test, variants differing on a single axis, a decision rule written before the spend, learnings that outlive the campaign. By Plainpaper. - [Content calendar](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/content-calendar/): Decide the month once: 3-5 pillars with jobs, a plan that assigns every slot, and posts written and approved before the month starts. By Plainpaper. - [Content repurposing](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/content-repurposing/): Mine one strong pillar piece for its atomic ideas, re-express each in every platform's native grammar, and learn which kinds of ideas travel. By Plainpaper. - [Giveaway list-builder](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/giveaway-list-builder/): Run a giveaway where the prize does the targeting, every email is written before launch, and the list is pruned afterwards. By Plainpaper. - [Quiz funnel](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/quiz-funnel/): Design a quiz where every question changes the recommendation and every result bucket gets its own flow, built on answers people volunteered. By Plainpaper. - [Positioning sprint](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/positioning-sprint/): Walk April Dunford's positioning components in order, from real alternatives to a messaging hierarchy every other board can consume. By Plainpaper. - [Competitor analysis](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/competitor-analysis/): Let buyers define the competitive set, mine what rivals' customers actually say, and turn it into dated, living battlecards. By Plainpaper. - [AI search visibility](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/ai-search-visibility/): Freeze a set of buyer questions, record how each AI engine answers them today, fix what keeps you out of the answers, and re-run the same audit monthly. By Plainpaper. - [BFCM sprint](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/bfcm-sprint/): A compressed peak-week board: offer and cut list decided early, five touches written before the week starts. By the community; unlocks with code 4820193. Playbooks are grouped into eight admin-owned categories, each with its own page: - [Retention & lifecycle](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/category/retention/): Winback, repeat purchase, and the flows that run continuously. - [Content & social](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/category/content-social/): Pillars, calendars, and the waterfall from one strong piece to many. - [Lead generation](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/category/lead-generation/): Giveaways, quizzes, and the funnels that grow the list before anyone buys. - [Research & positioning](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/category/research/): Audience work, messaging tests, and competitive analysis. - [Playbooks by Plainpaper](https://plainpaper.io/playbooks/by/plainpaper/): Everything published by Plainpaper itself, in one place. ## Guides - [How to use Claude for marketing campaigns](https://plainpaper.io/claude-for-marketing-campaigns/): The complete Claude marketing workflow: research, personas, email, content, distribution, and measurement. - [Plainpaper vs a blank chat, a whiteboard, or a doc](https://plainpaper.io/plainpaper-vs-a-blank-chat/): What a chat window, a whiteboard and a doc each do well for marketing work, where each one drops the campaign, and when Plainpaper is the wrong choice. - [Install Plainpaper in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/install-plainpaper-in-claude/): Plainpaper is not in Claude's connector directory yet, so it is added as a custom connector: open Settings, Connectors, choose "Add custom connector", paste mcp.plainpaper.io/mcp/, click Connect and approve access (OAuth), then switch Plainpaper on in a chat. No API key, no code, about three minutes on claude.ai or Claude Desktop. Needs a Claude plan with connectors (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise); a Plainpaper account is created free during connect and starts a 7-day trial. - [Install Plainpaper in ChatGPT](https://plainpaper.io/install-plainpaper-in-chatgpt/): ChatGPT keeps custom MCP servers behind developer mode, so the setup is: turn on developer mode in settings, open the Plugins directory (named Apps & connectors before July 2026), add a new MCP app, paste mcp.plainpaper.io/mcp/, choose OAuth and approve access, then enable Plainpaper in a chat. Needs a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu) and the web app at chatgpt.com, about five minutes; on Business and Enterprise an admin must allow custom MCP connectors first. ## Tools A curated gallery of AI tools for marketing creative, screened by one bar: a non-developer marketer can add the tool to Claude themselves (official connector, no API keys) and run it on predictable pricing (a flat plan or a prepaid pack). Powerful pay-as-you-go developer tools are listed in a clearly labelled advanced tier. - [Marketing tools gallery](https://plainpaper.io/tools/): The index. Six roundup guides and five single-connector guides, plus how each tool is scored (add-it-yourself connector, predictable flat or prepaid pricing, built for marketers). - [How to start working with the Meta Ads MCP server in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/meta-ads-mcp-server-claude/): Meta's official ads MCP server at mcp.facebook.com/ads, added to Claude as a custom connector with no code, no API key and no Meta developer app. Around 90 tools across seven categories (reporting, ad creation, catalogs, signals and datasets, A/B tests and lift studies, help, activity logs), the step-by-step setup, first prompts, and the real limits: writes land paused, no scheduled runs, no creative generation, free during the open beta that began 29 April 2026. - [Best AI tools to create marketing video](https://plainpaper.io/best-mcp-servers-ai-video-creation/): Marketer-ready video tools with an official Claude connector and predictable pricing: HeyGen, Runway, Pika, Descript, Canva. - [Best AI tools to create marketing visuals](https://plainpaper.io/best-mcp-servers-marketing-visuals/): Image and design tools you can add to Claude yourself on a flat plan: Canva, Ideogram, Recraft, Pixelcut, Adobe Express. - [Best tools to build and store email templates](https://plainpaper.io/best-mcp-servers-email-templates/): ESP connectors that build and store email templates from chat on published pricing: Klaviyo, Brevo, Constant Contact, MailerLite, Omnisend, Kit, plus Canva for imagery. - [How to start working with the Brevo MCP server in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/tools/brevo/): Brevo's two official routes as of August 2026: the Claude directory connector (OAuth, 21 tools, no API key) and the developer MCP server at mcp.brevo.com (193 tools, MCP key). The connector reads contacts, lists, segments and analytics and creates campaigns and templates as drafts only; Brevo's guarantee is that Claude never sends, schedules or deletes. Free on every Brevo plan. - [How to start working with the Klaviyo MCP server in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/tools/klaviyo/): Klaviyo's first-party MCP server at mcp.klaviyo.com/mcp, in Claude's connector directory since January 2026. 200+ tools in 18 categories (about 40 core): campaigns, drag-and-drop templates, segments, profiles, catalogs and attributed-revenue reporting. Limits: flow edits are status changes only, end-to-end sending still rolling out through 2026 (treat output as drafts), requires an Owner, Admin or Manager role, free with any Klaviyo account. - [How to start working with the ActiveCampaign MCP server in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/tools/activecampaign/): ActiveCampaign's official remote MCP server, connected with OAuth and a private Remote MCP URL from Settings, Developer. 60 tools (42 read, 18 write) across contacts, tags, lists, custom fields, deals, pipelines and email activity. It cannot create, schedule or send campaigns, cannot build automations, and has no delete tools. Included on every paid plan. - [The Mailchimp MCP server, and what actually works in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/tools/mailchimp/): Mailchimp's only official MCP server covers transactional email (Mandrill), not campaigns. The marketing platform is reachable through community servers (up to 227 tools, Mailchimp API key in Claude Desktop's config, start read-only) or hosted aggregators like Zapier MCP for the browser. Customer Journeys are invisible to every route because the API does not expose them. - [How to start working with the Canva MCP server in Claude](https://plainpaper.io/tools/canva/): Canva's first-party MCP server at mcp.canva.com/mcp, added from Claude's connector directory with OAuth. 33 tools: generate designs from a brief as candidates, edit element by element, import and export real formats, brand templates on Pro, autofill on Enterprise. No pixel-level editing and no triggers; free Canva covers the core loop. ## Integrations - [Klaviyo + Shopify + Claude](https://plainpaper.io/claude-klaviyo-shopify-ecommerce/): Run ecommerce email campaigns from your Shopify catalog and Klaviyo flows. - [Claude + Brevo](https://plainpaper.io/claude-brevo-marketing/): Draft Brevo segments, campaigns, and automations for approval. - [Claude + ActiveCampaign](https://plainpaper.io/claude-activecampaign-automation/): Design ActiveCampaign automations and lifecycle journeys, approved on a board. - [Claude + Mailchimp](https://plainpaper.io/claude-mailchimp-email/): Turn a one-line brief into a finished Mailchimp campaign. - [Claude + Meta Ads](https://plainpaper.io/claude-meta-ads-creative/): Plan and approve paid social creative for Facebook and Instagram. - [Canva + Mailchimp + Claude](https://plainpaper.io/claude-canva-mailchimp-campaigns/): Design on-brand email visuals in Canva and assemble the Mailchimp campaign. ## More - [Plainpaper home](https://plainpaper.io/): Product overview, playbooks, pricing, and a 7-day free trial. - [Privacy policy](https://plainpaper.io/privacy/): What is collected, where it is stored, and how workspace data is isolated. - [Terms of service](https://plainpaper.io/terms/): The terms the service is offered under. - Contact: hello@plainpaper.io
