What this playbook is for

Giveaways have a deserved reputation problem: a generic prize pulls thousands of entrants who wanted an iPhone and not you, and the unpruned merge that follows quietly damages deliverability for months. Both failures are decided before launch, which is where this board starts. The prize is chosen as a targeting decision (something only your ideal customer would enter for), the official rules are drafted and human-approved before anything goes live, and every email, including the winner announcement and the consolation offer that does the actual converting, is written on day one. After the confetti: the phase most giveaways skip. Entrants sit in quarantine, the throwaways and prize-hunters get pruned, and only provably engaged subscribers meet your main list. The scoreboard prices the list honestly: cost per engaged subscriber, not cost per email address.

The board it builds

Every playbook sets up a board with named phases running left to right, the card types that belong in each, and starter cards your agent fills in rather than invents. Here is what Giveaway list-builder lays out:

How a playbook stays safe

A playbook can only ever propose. Every card it creates arrives as a draft, and nothing leaves Plainpaper (no email sent, no ad launched) until you approve it yourself. That is enforced by Plainpaper, not by the playbook, so importing one never changes how your workspace works.

Playbooks by Plainpaper are written and maintained by us.
