The welcome flow reaches people at the one moment they asked to hear from you, which is why it quietly outearns most of the campaigns sent all year. It is also where email programmes go wrong first: a single generic blast instead of a sequence, a discount handed to everyone whether they needed one or not, and no memory of what the signup actually promised. This playbook starts there. A discount-popup subscriber, a lead-magnet subscriber, and a giveaway entrant were each promised something different, and the flow's first job is to keep that promise. Then five beats, written before launch, with exit rules and a measurement bar set at your list baseline, because a welcome flow that merely beats zero proves nothing.
