Every prompt below is written for our demo brand, P&P Bookstore, an independent online bookstore working on a board called "Summer sale". Swap in your own board name, workspace, and brand facts; what matters is the shape of each prompt. All of them assume Plainpaper is already connected to your agent. If it isn't, start with Connect Claude & other agents.
Getting set up
Prove the connection is live before anything else. A working agent names your workspace and lists your boards:
Check my Plainpaper connection. Which workspace are you connected to, and which boards can you see?
Then give the campaign a home. Creating from a playbook hands your agent the whole process instead of a set of empty columns:
Create a new board in my Plainpaper workspace "P&P Bookstore" from the Ecommerce Campaign playbook. Name it "Summer sale", then tell me which phases it has and which starter cards are waiting for my input.
Briefing a campaign
The full brief. Make your agent read the board first, then hand it the goal, offer, channels, and constraints in one go:
Open my board "Summer sale" in Plainpaper and read it before you write anything. Then start the campaign from this brief: - Goal: €10k revenue in the last week of August - Offer: 20% off summer reading bundles - Channels: email and Instagram - Constraint: no countdown timers or fake urgency, ever Put each piece of work on the board as its own card, in the right phase. Keep every card's summary to one line, and cite your sources on anything research-based.
Thin brief? Let the agent close the gaps before it starts guessing:
Before you start work on my "Summer sale" board, tighten the brief: ask me up to 5 questions about whatever is missing or ambiguous: audience, budget, timing, tone. Update the campaign brief card with my answers, and only then start drafting.
Research & audiences
A competitor scan that lands on the board as checkable cards instead of a chat answer that scrolls away:
Research how three comparable online bookstores run their summer promotions: offers, channels, and angle. Put what you find on my "Summer sale" board as research cards, one per competitor, each with a one-line summary and a citation for every claim.
Turn research into audiences, and keep the reasoning visible by connecting each audience to the evidence behind it:
From the research on my "Summer sale" board, draft our primary audience as its own card, plus one secondary audience worth testing. Connect each audience card to the research cards that support it, so I can see why you believe it.
Brand & guidelines
Have your agent study your website and write the workspace guidelines itself, the fast path from Set guidelines for a workspace:
Analyze https://bookstore.plainpaper.io: what the brand does, who it sells to, how it talks, and which colors it uses. Then set up the guidelines for my Plainpaper workspace "P&P Bookstore": - a "Tone of voice" text block with 5 do and 5 don't rules, each backed by a real phrase from the site - a color palette block with the exact hex values you found - a text block "What we sell & who we sell to" in 5 sentences Write every block as a binding rule, and show me what you created.
Then test that the guidelines actually land, the same way you'd test a new freelancer:
Read the guidelines for my Plainpaper workspace back to me as a short list. Then write one test Instagram caption for a new arrivals post, strictly in our voice, so I can check whether the guidelines actually land.
Emails
A full series in one prompt: three connected emails, in your voice, with the images marked as placeholders for you to supply:
On my "Summer sale" board, draft a 3-mail series for the 20% summer bundle offer: an announcement, a mid-sale nudge with social proof, and a last-chance mail. Create each as its own complete email card with subject, preheader, and full body, and connect them in send order. Apply the workspace guidelines, and use a placeholder for each hero image so I can supply the real ones.
After you've left comments on the drafts, one prompt turns them into revisions:
Check the open comments on my "Summer sale" board, make the changes they ask for on each email, and resolve every comment once its change is made. Summarize what you changed.
Set up a subject-line test as a proper sibling variant, so the board knows the two belong together:
Create a subject-line A/B test for Mail 1 on my "Summer sale" board: add a variant card as a sibling of the original: same body, new subject line that takes a clearly different angle. Tell me what each version is betting on.
Ad creative
Two competing single-image concepts, staged so you review them the way they'll actually appear:
On my "Summer sale" board, draft two single-image ad concepts for the summer bundle offer: two different hooks on the same offer. Stage each one as an Instagram Feed preview, use a placeholder for the image, and give every ad a clear CTA and destination URL. Apply the workspace guidelines.
Extend the winner of your gut check into vertical video:
Take the stronger of the two ad concepts on my "Summer sale" board and create a vertical-video variant: a short script with on-screen text, staged as both a Reels and a TikTok preview, with a placeholder for the video itself. Link it to the concept it came from.
Review & approval
A guided review session, where the agent presents and you decide:
Walk me through everything on my "Summer sale" board that's waiting for my review. For each piece: what it is, what informed it, and what you need me to decide. One card at a time, shortest first.
Get your review queue onto the board itself, so nothing waits in a chat log:
Go through the drafts on my "Summer sale" board. Set every one that's finished to awaiting approval so my review queue is visible on the board, and list anything that isn't ready yet and why.
Results
Plainpaper doesn't fetch numbers from your email or ad platforms. You bring them to the board, or your agent does through those platforms' own connectors:
Bring these results onto my "Summer sale" board as a results card (a chart), and link it to the email it measures: [paste your numbers: sends, opens, clicks, revenue] Keep the takeaway to one line in the card's summary.
Close the A/B test on evidence, not vibes:
Look at the results card linked to the subject-line A/B test on my "Summer sale" board and crown the winner. Tell me what the numbers say, then set the winner live and archive the loser.
Resuming
The board is the memory. A fresh session needs no chat history to pick a campaign back up:
What's the state of my "Summer sale" campaign in Plainpaper? Read the board and tell me: what's drafted, what's approved, which comments are still open, and what you'd do next.
Leave the campaign in a state a teammate (or next week's you) can read cold:
Update the board summary on "Summer sale" with where we stand: what has shipped, what's in review, and the next milestone. Keep it to a few sentences someone could read cold.
